Dr. Sakti Das Memorial School: A Legacy of Education and Empowerment
In honor of Dr. Sakti Das—a lifelong humanitarian and steadfast supporter of Tuhina’s initiatives—Tuhina has embarked on a heartfelt mission to establish the Dr. Sakti Das Memorial School in her village, Khas Sankdaha. This project is a tribute to his enduring legacy and vision for a better future through education.
Construction of the school is already underway, in collaboration with the Caring Hands Foundation, an organization Dr. Sakti Das co-founded. The new school will replace an existing makeshift facility operated by Naba Diganta, where Tuhina serves as Patron and Chief Advisor. The current setup, with its limited resources, struggles to meet the needs of its students. The Dr. Sakti Das Memorial School aims to change that.
This primary school will offer free education to over 300 young children, providing a dedicated learning environment equipped with essential amenities such as sanitation facilities, a library, and more. Designed to foster a safe, dignified, and hygienic space, the school will ensure that every child can exercise their right to education. By addressing these fundamental needs, the project seeks to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to pursue brighter futures.
The Dr. Sakti Das Memorial School is more than just a building—it’s a commitment to realizing Dr. Das’s dream of elevating educational standards in the region and creating an inclusive, high-quality learning environment. For Tuhina and the Caring Hands Foundation, this initiative is a meaningful way to celebrate his contributions and carry forward his humanitarian spirit.
Construction is progressing swiftly, with plans to complete the school before the monsoon season begins, ensuring that this beacon of hope and opportunity rises soon in Khas Sankdaha.
